The wildlife in Ndutu is notable for its variety and density, particularly during the annual Great Migration (December – March); over a million wildebeests, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, traverse its plains in search of water and fresh grazing grounds. During this stage of the migration, Ndutu becomes the birthing ground for wildebeests, creating a dynamic and vibrant wildlife spectacle. With such a large concentration of vulnerable newborns, the area becomes a predator hotspot. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas patrol the plains, taking advantage of the abundant, easy prey.
